HARROW has been ranked as one of the unhappiest places to live in the country in a recent survey.

The borough came in the bottom ten along with eight other London boroughs and Oldham, near Manchester, in a survey carried out by the property listings company Rightmove.

The Happy at Home survey measured towns and London boroughs on 12 different criteria, including pride, well-being, amenities and neighbourliness.

A total of 25,349 people took part in the survey and the northern town of Carlisle in Cumbria came out on top as the most happy place to live.

Opinion in Harrow town centre was divided over the results but people generally agreed that enjoyment of where you live is related to the friendliness of neighbours and the number of friends and family you live near.
