An aspiring medic wins a place at Cambridge University after scoring four A*'s in his A levels.

Canons High School’s Sixth Form students and staff are celebrating yet another set of 'outstanding' A Level results.

In particular Soleiman Anwary achieved a stunning set of results gaining a place at Cambridge to study medicine.

Soleiman was awarded four A* grades in chemistry, biology, physics and maths. He said: "I am so happy with this set of results,  I am over the moon."

Other students also achieved top A grades in all of their subjects. These include Meera Galaiya who will be reading dentistry at Queen Mary University , Rikesh Hirani who will read optometry at City University, Sobanan Narenthiran will study medicine at Plymouth University and Vishal Sengani  who will study accountancy and finance at Birmingham University.

Headteacher, Lynn Rowlands said: “We are delighted that, yet again, the vast majority of our students have obtained a place at their first choice University. These results are a real testament to the ambition, hard work and commitment of our students and staff at Canons High School.

"I would like to congratulate all of our students and thank the members of staff who have worked tirelessly with the students to help them to achieve such outstanding results.”
