CHILDREN worked up a sweat with a leading athlete before hearing about her day-to-day life.
Sprinter and Harrow Athletics Club member Laura Turner visited the Sai School of Harrow, a multi-faith and citizenship focused Saturday school based at Stanburn School in Abercorn Road, Stanmore.
The event, on Saturday, was part of the Sports 4 All outreach programme bringing sportsmen and women to the classroom.
School founder Ranu Mehta-Radia said: “Laura ran four activities like press-ups and star jumps with the pupils, then spoke to them on what it is like to compete for your country at a national level.”
Ms Turner, who won the UK Championships women’s 100m and 200m in 2010 and posts the third quickest 100m of any British woman ever, brought her gold medal from the 4 x 100m relay event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games to show to the youngsters.
