A Harrow man died at Watford Junction Station.

Roger Chilcott, 50, of Headstone Lane, was struck by a high-speed train just at 11.15am on Saturday November 29.

The service which hit him was the 11am London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly service operated by Virgin Trains.

British Transport Police closed off part of the station until 1.20pm.

A BTP spokeswoman said: "Our officers were called to Watford Junction on Saturday November 29 after a report a man had been struck by a train.

"Colleagues from Hertfordshire Constabulary and East of England Ambulance Service also attended, which was reported to us shortly after 11.15am.

"A man from Harrow, to believed to be 50 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

An inquest will open in due course at St Albans Coroner’s Court in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
