Police are looking for young people who live in Harrow or attend school in the borough to become Volunteer Police Cadets (VPC).

Open to 13 to 18-year the programme will see them take part in inspections and drills, physical training, sports, visits from specialist police departments, and be involved in activities such as leaflet drops, stewarding local parades and test purchase operations within the borough.

They will be taught some valuable life skills, all about social responsibility and the experience will help them build positive relationships with the police.

Cadets will have the chance to venture further afield for events such as training exercises and camps, as well as assist in big events including Remembrance Day parades, Notting Hill Carnival and the London Marathon.

Cadets meet on a Tuesday and Thursday evening, from 6.45pm to 9.30pm, at Harrow High School.

Anyone interested should contact PC Lewis or PC Underwood on 020 8733 4812.
