The Conservative MP for Harrow East will hold his seat, accord to a poll from Lord Ashcroft.

Bob Blackman, who won the seat in 2010, is expected to beat off competition from Labour's Uma Kumaran by three per cent.

The poll indicates an expected five per cent fall in Conservative votes, but it should be enough to carry the incumbent over the line.

Harrow East has been identified as a key battleground between the Tories and Labour for the upcoming election in May.

Gareth Thomas, the Labour MP for Harrow West, will be challenged by Hannah David, the Conservative candidate.
