X FACTOR and Harlesden singing sensation, John Adeleye, has sailed through to the next round of the live shows.

On Saturday (Oct 11) night's show the 30-year-old care worker, who lives in Harlesden with his mum, said: "I really enjoy my job but I know in my heart I really want to take to the world stage and show everybody what I've got."

Before he took to the stage, mentor, Louis Walsh, praised John who looks after people with dementia. He said: "I picked John because of his voice. He's understated but I think he is the dark horse of the competition."

The singer sang a pitch perfect rendition of One Sweet Day - originally sang by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men.

After his performance, judge Cheryl Cole, said: "If I was to sum you up in one word, it would be gorgeous."

While Louis added: "You are one of the most genuine and sincere contestants in the

competition. This guy has so much more to give."

John is used to singing in front of people – he used to regularly serenade the residents at the care-home he worked at, but singing for millions each week at the live shows will be a new challenge.

On the X Factor website, his sister, Felicia, says: "At school he started to come into

his own. He studied music production and got distinctions the whole way through. John has worked really hard and he really deserves to be here."

John will perform again on ITV1 at 7.30pm on Saturday (Oct 18).
