A Harefield mother-of-triplets, who battled cancer for four years, has released a children's book in time for Christmas.

46-year-old Anita Hirani-Hewett's first illustrated children's book, The Hole - The Adventures of Nooshi, Neenee and Nownow' follows the colourful adventures of triplets, loosely based on her own trio of children, Thomas, Ethan and Neev.

Ms Hirani-Hewett hopes the book will be the first in a series of books aimed at children up to the age of five.

She told getwestlondon: “I've always wanted to write a children's book in my later years and was the Head of the Business Support Unit at a university in London prior to the triplets and cancer.”

The mother-of-five, who has two children as well as her five-year-old triplets, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in early 2011, forcing her to abandon her teaching traning.

She spent the following four years in “recovery mode”.

Ms Hirani-Hewett said: “The book launch is the culmination of my personal ambition and a way of celebrating my continuing survival in what has been an eventful five-year period.

“From a very turbulent time something good has been achieved.”

The inspirational cancer survivor has read her book at schools in Harefield since the official launch, on November 28, at newly-opened 'We Love Coffee' in Harefield High Street.

Ms Hirani-Hewett added: “The launch received tremendous local support in Harefield and from local businesses.”

“Given the circumstances, I was able to have my dream come true early.”
