THE chairwoman of UK Sport was inspired by a visit to The Harefield Academy.

Baroness Sue Campbell dropped into the school in Northwood Way, on Wednesday last week and chatted with boarders who have been staying in a new accommodation block since it opened last year.

She was also given a tour of the school’s new garden of reflection.

Designed by horticultural students, it has an Olympic Games theme and includes an impressive “2012” display as well as flowers planted to form the initials of the school.

Baroness Campbell, who heads the organisation responsible for funding sport around the country, planted a cherry tree before moving on to watch pupils taking part in a range of sports and activities including cycling, off-ice skating, zumba and basketball.

Before she left she wrote in the academy’s visitor book: “Inspirational! Thank you – how I wish I could spread your magic to all schools!”
