Referring to the headline 'We're RAIL-LY angry'in your issue dated November 13.

This letter is from a reader who is a lot more than that and cannot use the words he would like because he would be accused of being obscene.

Firstly, can you say where in Hanworth is the marshalling yard as there has never been a station there in my lifetime and I have lived there all of my 70-plus years.

There was a marshalling yard in Feltham for manyyears and the noise of the buffers clanging when wagons were coupled to make up a train for a specific place, but electric or diesel would make far less noise.

In the second paragraph it is stated that the meeting reported was held at St Giles Hotel, Feltham, and that the marshalling yard was nearby, so I am tempted to ask was your reporter real-ly at a meeting in Feltham or was he elsewhere, or was he in cloud cuckooland with the people whose remarks are quoted?

DES PHIPPS Butts Cottages, Hampton Road West, Hanworth.

Editor's note: The marshalling yard we refer to runs above South West Middlesex Crematorium and below the Sparrow Farm Estate - on the Feltham/Hanworth border.
