A club with a difference has started at Crane Park Children's Centre, where dads are taking over on the first Saturday of every month.

The fun sessions offer a chance for fathers to spend some quality time with their kids, doing arts, crafts, sport or other activities.

"All the dads enjoyed themselves and are keen to come back for more," said Maeve Begley, extended schools coordinator for Hanworth, who organises the club. "We welcome dads, granddads, uncles, big brothers and stepdads, as we appreciate that not all dads live with their children.

"Having the club on a Saturday morning will give dads who work, or only have weekend contact, an opportunity to do something different with their children. We also have a toddler corner and welcome young dads in particular."

Hanworth father Mark Crook, who attended the first session with his kids Emma and Adam, said: "It was great to spend some fun time with the children and be a kid again."

The club costs just £1.50 and the next event is on December 6, from 10am-1pm. To find out more call Maeve on 07932 513 869 or email begley.crane-park.hounslow@lgfl.net
