A stunning scientist based at Hammersmith Hospital has flown to South Africa to compete in the finals of Miss India Worldwide.
Multi-talented Niharica Raizada, 24, beat competitors from around the country to win the UK title, and is now taking time out from stem cell research for the contest in Durban on Saturday (27).
Niharica built a successful career at Imperial College Healthcare after moving to Britain from Luxembourg seven years ago.
She is fluent in seven languages and is also a professional model, actress and classically trained ballet dancer.
After winning the coveted title of Miss India Worldwide UK in February, she said: "It is great to see talent being recognised, and that people from different backgrounds can have a chance to display their individuality and spend some time in the limelight."
She plans to spend her reign promoting science and medicine and working on community projects.
