A HALLOWEEN fundraising event was a big success in Hanwell on Saturday night, raising more than £300 for a little girl who has cancer.

Robyn Higgins, aged seven, has stage four neuroblastoma cancer and her family needs to raise £300,000 to send her to a specialist hospital in New York for a revolutionary treatment that could save her life.

Staff at the Angela Francis Salon in GreenfordAvenue, Hanwell held a Halloween fundraiser and made £345 for Robyn. They did 'spooky' hair designs for children, along with tricks and treats.

Staff at the Cuckoo cafe across the road on the GreenfordAvenue also chipped in by dressing up for their evening customers and donating proceeds from all desserts, sweets and coffees to the appeal.

Further fundraising events are planned at the salon in the coming weeks, including a carol singing evening with mince pies and mulled.
