A GUN was held to the head of a cab driver in South Harrow on Sunday by a passenger who refused to pay a £6 fare.

The gunman then stole father-oftwo Nisthar Junaid's car leaving him on the pavement at 2am after a cab ride from Eastcote.

The 29-year-old, who lives in Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, said he feared his life might be over when the gun was pressed against his head.

He said: "I have never seen a gun before so when it was put to my head of course I was extremely scared.

"I could tell that this guy was serious.

"And thinking about it now if I had said anything different or argued I could be dead."

Mr Junaid picked up his passenger from Eastcote station and was asked to take him to Arundel Drive in South Harrow.

He said: "I got about two minutes down the road when he started to put gloves on.

"I asked why he would need them in this hot weather and he just laughed.

"I parked the car in Arundel Drive and when I said it was £6 he tried to find the money before saying he didn't have any.

"I told him not to worry about the money and that he could drop it off at the office the next morning.

"But even though I tried to find a solution for him that's when he pulled a gun out of his jacket and put it to my head."

The man told Mr Junaid to get out of the car.

Junaid's silver Toyota Avensis was stolen along with £200 and his Sat Nav, which were inside.

The thief drove the car towards Eastcote Lane and it was later found dumped in Brent.

Mr Junaid, who works for taxi firm, Eastcote Travel, in the neighbouring Hillingdon borough, is worried about returning to work and is considering giving up the job.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
