The halls were alive with the sound of music as students at Gumley House Convent School brought to life the much-loved tale of singing nuns and Nazis.

More than 80 students from the Catholic secondary school, in St Johns Road, Isleworth, appeared in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical last week.

They first performed The Sound of Music last Monday (July 7) for pupils from four local primary schools, before staging four sell-out public shows between last Wednesday and Saturday (July 12).

The production featured students from years seven to 13, and GCSE and A level drama students helped with the costumes props, make-up and sound.

Last Monday's preview performance was enjoyed by pupils from St Mary's, Isleworth Town, Worple Road and Ivybridge primary schools, as well as the ladies and gentlemen of the St John's Centre Tuesday Club.
