STUDENTS staged a feminist fairy tale about young women defeating dragons and rescuing princes in distress.

Pupils from all years at Gumley House Convent School united for the production of Jay Williams' The Practical Princess last week, from July 9 to 13.

Meanwhile, 21 sixth-form students from the school, in St John's Road, Isleworth, are preparing to accompany the sick and elderly on a pilgrimage to Lourdes, where the waters are rumoured to cure all manner of ills.

Another group of 20 pupils are heading to Kenya shortly to help build a classroom.
