A sixth form student injured in a crash outside Gumley House Convent School, in Isleworth, is making a good recovery in hospital, the school has said.

The 17-year-old girl was injured in a collision with a vehicle in Twickenham Road, by the traffic lights at the junction with Worton Road, last Friday (November 14) afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said officers were called to the scene at about 3.20pm and paramedics had treated the teenager at the scene for a leg injury before taking her to a west London hospital.

The school today told getwestlondon the pupil remained in hospital but was making a good recovery and it was hoped she would be discharged soon.

A spokeswoman for the school added that the girl had some fractures but her injuries were not believed to be too serious.

London's Air Ambulance landed in Redlees Park, just down the road from the school, but a London Ambulance Service (LAS) spokeswoman said the teenager had been taken to St Mary's Hospital, in Paddington, by road.

Police said no one was understood to have been arrested in connection with the incident.
