A guitar enthusiast has had his instruments and television seized by Kensington and Chelsea Council after he played music until 1am.

Noisy neighbour Declan Broadberry, 39, of Grove House, Chelsea Manor Street, played loud music in the early hours of the morning leading to sleepless nights for his neighbours.

Earlier this year he had a sound system seized by Environmental Health Officers, but continued to disturb his neighbours by playing loud music in his flat until 1am in the morning, forcing council officials to confiscate two guitars that could be destroyed in six months.

Cabinet member for environmental health Councillor Fiona Buxton, said: "Mr Broadberry showed no consideration for his neighbours when he decided that it was reasonable to play loud music in the early hours of the morning.

"The council has acted and brought the matter to the courts who have decided that Mr Broadberry should lose the rights of ownership to two of his guitars as well as imposing a fine and paying costs."

He was convicted at West London Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 4, of breaching a noise abatement notice. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
