The Greenford branch of the Salvation Army marked its 80th anniversary with a variety of musical performances.

The weekend celebrations included a programme by Central South Area Fellowship band and choir, as well as music from the Greenford Timbrels group on May 9 and 10, at the Holy Cross Church.

Former Mayor of the borough Tej Ram Bagha was in attendance, as well as former Salvation Army members, MP for Ealing North Steve Pound, councillor Aysha Raza and former councillor Archie Ross.

Tea and cake was enjoyed by everyone and on Sunday morning, worship was led by Major James Williams.

Envoy Kath Davison said: "I would like to thank everyone for their continued support over the years and may the army still be able to continue its work in the community."
