A GREEN School student with an interest in politics has enjoyed a dream trip to Parliament as a guest of Brentford & Isleworth MP Mary Macleod.

Shanice Wilson, 17, shadowed the local Tory MP on November 2 after being nominated for the experience by her headteacher, Pam Butterfield.

The youngest of two daughters, Shanice is currently in her last year at The Green School in London Road, Isleworth and hopes to read Law at university.

She said: "It was so exciting, I saw David Cameron, Ed Miliband, and Nick Clegg. I got to sit in some meetings and debates and helped Mary in her office. I want to be in politics so I can make a difference. I also like public speaking and debating."

Other highlights of the day included attending Prime Minister’s questions, watching MPs debate the Legal Aid bill and helping Ms Macleod with a local project.

Ms Macleod said: “I hope Shanice found the experience to be useful and one which may even be the start of a path into political life.”
