THE Grand Union Canal will be revitalised for the benefit of walkers, joggers, cyclists and boaters.

More than £650,000 is being invested in a green route stretching more than two miles.

Funding from Transport for London and Ealing and Hillingdon Councils is enabling canal charity the Canal and River Trust to widen the towpath following a pilot scheme in Ealing last year.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “The canal is a beautiful part of the borough and attracts families, dog walkers, cyclists and anglers.”
