A SNAP-HAPPY Bayswater teenager has picked up a national photography award.

Dean Mostafa, 14, of Garway Road, was one of the winners in charity Mencap's national photo and short film competition, Snap!.

As well as winning a new digital camera, Dean's photo will be on display at the Proud Camden gallery, in Chalk Farm Road, Camden, from June 16 to 28.

He has also been invited to a glittering awards ceremony, where he will rub shoulders with Mencap's celebrity supporters, including investigative journalist and Dancing on Ice star Donal Macintyre.

All entries into the competition were taken by or of someone with a learning disability.

With his picture, entitled 'Dean's favourite picture', Dean won a gold award in the 'my artwork' category.

He said: "I think it's a good picture because it's kind of gooey. The picture looks like it's melting through the silver, the window shows a view behind."
