WE WERE very sad to hear of the incident with the 'dirty mop' in the children's A&E department printed in last week's Uxbridge Gazette. We feel confident that the hospital trust will fully investigate the incident and take the appropriate action.
However, we feel compelled to write to inform you of the positive work at the trust in improving standards of infection prevention and control.
We are members of the public and, with a number of others, form the FIT group (Fighting Infection Together).
We have been working in partnership with the hospital to drive up infection prevention and control measures.
In our experience the hospital operates a very transparent and honest approach to any issues raised by the public and values the contributions and suggestions made.
A huge amount of work resulted in improved rates for last year and we are working to achieve even better results for 2009.
