EALING Hospital has performed well following a recent report by the Audit Commission.

The hospital trust is one of only seven acute trusts in the Capital to record strong financial figures over the past three years

And the trust's record is highlighted in the third annual auditors' local evaluation report form the Audit Commission.

Chief Executive Julie Lowe said: "The continuing success we have had in managing our finances is a tribute to our senior managers and also to all our staff who are working with us to be more efficient and effective in what we do.

"We are currently investing in providing a midwifery-led birthing unit in our maternity department and expanding our A&E to meeting growing demand.

"Our ward and department refurbishment programme is continuing and is having a real impact in improving the environment of the hospital. Other capital schemes to improve and add to the hospital building will be taking shape in the near future."
