RICHMOND Park MP Zac Goldsmith met his 12-day old namesake when he opened a care centre in Teddington.
Zac senior came face to face with little Zac - the great-grandson of the home's first resident - after cutting the ribbon at the Deer Park View Care Centre, in Bushy Park Road last Friday (July 23).
Maria Gambrill, 90, moved into the new building on June 14 and her family, including young Zac, joined her for the official opening.
Zac said “I was honoured to be asked to open the new Care Home and was hugely impressed by the quality of the facilities. With an increasingly elderly population in Richmond and a growing problem of lack of social care facilities nation wide, we need more of these facilities.
"The elderly in our society aren't always treated with the respect and dignity they deserve, and that needs to end."
