With regard to your story last week by Aidan Jones on prisoners voting - I have long argued in favour of this. Our prisons are full, or over-full, of the results of political failure.
Politicians have continually swept the problem under the carpet as a vote loser.
Prisoners with votes will force politicians to face up to the reasons why we have so many people in prison, which has to be in everybody's interest.
The only politician to ever take any genuine interest in the problem was Anne Widdicombe, who lost her position as a result. No good deed goes unpunished, so it seems.
