Three workers at a tattoo parlour in Harlesden are being prosecuted by Brent Council for allegedly failing to have the correct licences to practice.

The trio, who work at Coco Tattoo and Body Piercing, located above Library Parade Dry Cleaners and Laundry in Library Parade in Craven Park Road, are due before Willesden Magistrates' Court on Tuesday accused of contravening health and safety regulations.

One, a 17-year-old girl from Hendon who we have chosen not to name, is accused of "on January 9 2014, being a self employed body piercing practitioner working at the premises known as Coco Tattoo and Body Piercing failed to conduct her undertaking in such a way as to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, other persons (not being her employees) who may be affected thereby are not thereby exposed to risks to their health and safety in that she commenced employment as a tattoo artist in Brent Council without possessing the required licence to do such work in Brent Council".

She faces a second charge of failing to have a special treatment licence for the premises from the council.

Her co-defendants are Paolo Boy, 27, of Seven Sisters, north London, who faces the same two charges, and Sergio Motiu, 25, who lives at the parlour and faces the same two charges and a third of not having a personal licence on February 22 2013.
