Following yesterday's protest by Somali campaigners who gathered outside Harrow Civic Centre to call for a child who was taken into care to be given to foster parents who are more in line with their religious beliefs, comments have been flooding in from Observer and Get West London readers.

Tracey Loscombe posted on our Facebook page : "Religion gets in the way of things at the end of the day the most important thing is that the child is being cared for shouldn't matter about the carers sexuality."

Khadika Hannah said: "So what!!! The child will be happy, cared for and most of all safe."

Pooja Chottai: "At least the child will be loved ans cared for. They didn't choose to be without a home. Children are our future and we should help them."

Sarah Birch said: "Let the child have a loving home who ever it's with!"
