A major gas leak brought chaos to Notting Hill Gate this morning as roads and the tube station closed down.

A major gas leak brought chaos to Notting Hill Gate this morning as roads and the tube station closed down.

National grid, police and firefighters surrounded the area and motorists and pedestrians are urged to avoid the area during rush hour.

Notting Hill Underground station is closed with trains running through but not stopping.

The following roads have now reopened:

Pembridge Road j/w Ladbroke Road

Notting Hill Gate j/w Camden Hill Road in both directions

Notting Hill Gate j/w Kensington Church Street in both directions
