THE BBC’s Gardeners’ Question Time will be recorded in the borough at the beginning of April.

The popular Radio 4 show will be staged at the Compass Theatre, in Ickenham, on Monday, April 8, following an invitation from Ickenham and Swakeleys Horticultural Society (ISHS).

Patt Trigg, the ISHS shows manager and vice-chairman, was delighted with the news. She said: “This is an extremely exciting event both for our society and, indeed, for Ickenham. We’re really looking forward to hosting the show.”

Tickets will be offered by ballot to the 500-plus members of the horticultural society and those who are successful will be invited to write questions for the Gardeners’ Question Time team on their tickets, which will then be drawn from a box by the panellists during the recording,

Gardeners’ Question Time is one of the longest running shows on the BBC, having first been broadcast in April 1947.

The recording at the 140-seat Compass Theatre will begin at 5.30pm and is scheduled to finish at around 7.45pm. The show will air later in the same week.
