Three men have been charged with kidnap and blackmail after police raided a Kenton home.

Shujah Parver Khaliq, 25, Arif Aga, 25, and Dipesh Chauhan, 27, from Harrow, will appear in City of Westminster Magistrates Court today to face charges.

On Monday firearms officers broke down the door of a property in Glenalmond Road, Kenton.

Windows were smashed and neighbours feared for their lives as police brandishing guns blocked off the road and stormed into the building.

Earlier in the day police also shot out the tyres of a blue Skoda on nearby Shrewsbury Avenue, which was also believed to be involved in the incident.

A 39-year-old woman, of Glenalmond Road, who did not wish to be named, described how she hid in her living room after seeing policemen in her garden.

She said: "I have lived in the road 14 years and I have partial hearing but I heard the bangs.

"My two kids were at school luckily, but when I saw the police I just stayed where I was.

"It's scary that you don't even know what is going on in your street."
