THE family and friends of a 19 year old who tragically died from a rare infection are planning a fundraiser in his memory.
Scott McGurk, of Shakespeare Avenue, Hayes died on December 5 2008 in Hammersmith Hospital after contracting a rare infection, Necrotising Fasciitis.
Now his friends are planning a football tournament to raise money for Hillingdon Hospital, in memory of sport-loving Scott.
The five-a-side tournament will take place at Goals soccer centre, in Springfield Lane, Hayes on March 21, beginning at 11am.
Scott's mother, Sandra McGurk, said: "Over 150 people are interested already, many of who knew Scott.
"The tournament was held last year by his friends, to raise money for our family, and now we want to do it again bigger and better to raise money for the children's unit at Hillingdon Hospital."
Entry to the tournament will cost £35 per team, who can turn up on the day without needing to pre-book, and spectators will be asked to make a donation.
QPR fan Scott was a locksmith and his funeral was held at St Raphael's Church in Morrison Road, Hayes.
