FAMILIES got hands on with everything from archery to birds of prey during a weekend of activities at a stately home.

Osterley Park and House, in Jersey Road, Osterley, hosted the annual free-to-enter event on Saturday and Sunday.

It was made bigger and better than previous years thanks to the addition of a funfair, demonstrations of falconry and a dog agility workshop.

These were on offer alongside familiar activities such as music and dance performances, face painting, henna decorations and even free tours of the 18th century house.

Neil Cole, property manager for Osterley Park and House, which is owned by the National Trust, said: “The team at Osterley pulled out all the stops to make this year really special for our visitors. We saw lots of familiar faces from our local community and welcomed new visitors too.”

Families were allowed to bring picnics on site, but there were also plenty of stalls selling a wide range of international food and drink too.
