FAIRGROUND rides, fire engines and football were all part of the fun-filled activities at Edward Pauling Primary School summer fair.

The bouncy castle was a hit and beat the goalie was a huge success with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust coach Jamie Tompkins.

The Mayor of Hounslow, councillor Sachin Gupta, was seen mingling with the crowds, while Feltham firefighters showed excited children their engine and talked to them about the dangers of fires.

Large groups of children were also seen gathered around the volunteers from St John Ambulance, who were teaching how to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).

Other fun things to do included face painting, glitter tattoos, toy stalls, a raffle, as well as food from cupcakes to Thai cuisine and a meaty barbecue.

Families turned up in droves and helped raise £1,700, which will go towards new equipment for the school.

The event was organised by the school’s friends committee, which is made up of parents whose children attend Edward Pauling, in Redford Close, Feltham.

Parent and committee member, Michelle Sears, said: “This was the best fair we have had and a really good turn out. The barbecue was manic, the mayor attended and, overall, it was a really good success.”
