A FAMILY fun day will raise money for a children’s skull condition that is not treated by the NHS.

A host of entertainment will be on offer at the event at the Battle of Britain Club, Hillingdon Road, Uxbridge, on Thursday June 7.

All money will go to the charity Headstart4Babies, which raises awareness of plagiocehaly, a disorder that makes the back or side of a head appear flattened.

It can be treated by the child wearing a special helmet which leaves space where the head needs to round out.

But the treatment is rarely offered on the NHS and most parents must find the £2,000 that it costs themselves.

Mum Lauren Hockley, who is organising the fun day, has found herself in this position and is trying to raise the cash for her son’s treatment.

HeadStart4Babies have offered to help her pay for it.

She plans to give all the money she raises to the charity, which she hopes will amount to the money needed for his treatment, with some left over for them to spend on other causes.

There will be a bouncy castle, ball pool, face painters, a disco and a range of other entertainment and refreshments.

Entry is £2 per family and the fun kicks off at 12pm.
