FRIENDS of former school mentor Leigh-Anne Pinnock – now better known as one of the four members of girl band Little Mix – are hoping to get seats for the X-Factor finals at Wembley Arena this weekend.
Little Mix is the first girl band to reach the contest’s final stage in the show's eight year history.
Twenty-year-old Leigh-Anne, who was a mentor at Harlington Community School earlier this year, celebrated with her bandmates after being voted through by public votes.
The other finalists are Marcus Collins and Amelia Lily. The fourth semi-finalist, Misha B, got the fewest votes and left the competition on Sunday.
The final will be spread across two nights. One act will be eliminated on Saturday.
Leigh-Anne’s family have five tickets for the Saturday show and 10 for Sunday, and first in line for any extras are her friends, who have supported her from around the country.
Her mum Debbie, a history teacher, said: “I’m just so pleased, and so were they. After they heard, the girls were running about backstage screaming. It doesn’t feel real.
“We’re just hoping they get through to Sunday now but whatever happens, they have done really well.”
