Police searching for a diabetic woman who went missing without her insulin on New Year's Day have uncovered CCTV footage showing several people they want to speak to.

Officers say the images, which have yet to be released, show six people walking along the Grand Union Canal towpath, near to the John Guest premises in Horton Road, West Drayton, in the hour after Bronwyn Davies was last seen.

Bronwyn Davies, 60, has been missing from West Drayton since New Year's Day

CCTV images released yesterday (Wednesday, January 7) show the 60-year-old mother-of-one walking along the towpath towards Hayes at 10.28am on January 1. The footage is the only confirmed sighting of Miss Davies since she was reported missing later that day.

Police have traced one man shown in the footage, but say he does not remember seeing Miss Davies that morning.

Detective sergeant Andy Grant, who is leading the investigation, appealed for the others, along with anyone else who may have seen Miss Davies or who has information, to call police.

He said: "We're still very worried about Bronwyn Davies. It's now been nearly a week - in fact it is a week - since she went missing, or reported missing, on New Year's Day."

He added: "At the moment we still have all options open. We genuinely do not know where Bronwyn is and we appeal to anybody who has seen this lady... to please phone the police so that we can help her and get her back to her loving family."

Today the Metropolitan Police Service's Marine Support Unit continued to search the canal as officers on horseback scoured the banks, hoping to glean information from a higher vantage point.

Divers and specialist sniffer dogs have also been scouring the waters over the past two days and a police helicopter has been circling overhead.

Police in Italy have been to Miss Davies' old home there but found no useful information, it emerged today.

But DS Grant said he remained hopeful that Miss Davies would be found safe.

He said: "There is nothing to say there has been any foul play."

However, police and Miss Davies' family are particularly worried as the type 1 diabetic left home without her insulin or inhaler and, according to her daughter, may have onset dementia.

Miss Davies is also believed to be without a mobile phone or money and she left half a cup of coffee in the microwave before leaving home, all of which DS Grant said suggested she had intended to return.

She issued a fresh plea today for anyone with information to contact police.

She said: "Please anyone, even if they think they have seen her or even if they are not sure, please come forward with any information, even if it's insignificant."

She added: "All I have is my mum. There can't be any other outcome than my mum being found. There can't be."
