SHOPPERS can get free safety advice in Hounslow tomorrow (Saturday, December 8).


Experts will be on hand at locations across the town centre to provide information on issues including street robbery, consumer protection, addiction support and much more.

Attack alarms will be available, along with advice about other gadgets to help people stay safe.

Councillor Ed Mayne, Hounslow's cabinet member for community safety and regulatory services, said: "Christmas is a time when people need to be particularly careful to avoid becoming a victim of crime – expensive presents under the tree, and carrying extra cash for shopping are a target for criminals but there are a number of simple things that you can do to stay safe.

"By getting out into the community we hope we can help people avoid becoming victims of crime."

Information will be available at the following stalls from 10am to 4pm:

Bell corner – bike marking

Holy Trinity Church – youth services

Treaty Centre – police, community safety team and Neighbourhood Watch

Hounslow Library – domestic violence, hate crime and victim support

Outside Mothercare – Trading Standards, London Fire Brigade

ASDA – drugs and alcohol support services, healthy living
