I should like to say a big 'thank you' to the four young people who telephoned me at 2am on October 13 to say they had found my dog.
I'd been walking around Ruislip Lido and the adjoining fields during the afternoon, having parked the car in the Linksway, Northwood, at about 4pm on the Sunday.
My small terrier,Benji, decided to chase a rabbit as we were about 70 yards from the car.
At about 7.15pm I returned home, distraught but grateful to all the people who helped me in the search.
I was awoken by the phone at 2am to be told he had been found near the junction of Green Lane and Rickmonsworth Road - was he walking home? I'll never know, but he was being looked after by three girls and one boy who'd found him and rang me.
They were friendly, polite and refused to accept my small cash reward.
All too often the youngsters of today get a bad press, but credit where credit's due.
These four young people are a credit to themselves, their families and the youngsters of today.
Well done and thank you.
Hallowell Road, Northwood.
