Illegal immigrants were arrested following a raid on a Chiswick restaurant partly owned by Frankie Dettori.

Following an intelligence tip-off, UK Border Agency officers visited Frankie's Braganza in Chiswick High Road last Friday and arrested four people.

The three Brazilian men and and Algerian man are believed to have supplied counterfeit documents to gain employment at the family chain
restaurant which the jockey owns with celebrity chef, Marco Pierre White.

In another raid only days earlier at a branch of Frankie's in Knightsbridge, an Albanian man and two Ecuadorian men were also arrested for immigration offences.

Sharon Flannery, London area Director for the UK Border Agency, said: These kinds of operations are being done every day by the UK Border Agency to combat immigration crime in London.

More are planned in the coming weeks.

Where we find people who are in the UK illegally we will seek to remove them.

Illegal working has a serious impact on communities, taking jobs from those who are genuinely allowed to work.

Frankie's Braganza will now have to prove that they carried out the legally required checks on staff or they could face a fine of up to s10,000 per illegal worker.

Immigration Minister Damian Green said: Illegal immigration put huge pressure on the public purse at a time when the country can least afford it.

Together with the police and the Serious Organised Crime Agency we will continue to make life as difficult as possible for those who cheat the immigration system.
