FOUR people were taken to hospital after a collision in Stanmore on Thursday (28).

One woman suffered from a punctured lung and broken ribs after her car was involved in a four car crash close to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Fire crews attended the scene and spent just over an hour freeing the drivers from their cars.

Ambulance crews and the air ambulance arrived at the scene at just after noon yesterday and treated one woman in her 70s, who was taken to Royal London Hospital with abdominal injuries, a 43-year-old man, who was treated for head injuries and taken to St Mary's, a 65-year-old woman, who was treated for head injuries and taken to Barnet Hospital and a 48-year-old man who was taken to Watford General as a precaution.

Three of the patients have now been released from hospital but the woman with abdominal injuries was in a more serious condition.

No arrests have been made.
