FOUR men have been arrested following an alleged fight between employees of rival butcher's shops in Sudbury.

The altercation happened at 8am in the street between workers from Sudbury Halal Meat and Hamza Halal Meat, which lie directly opposite one another in Greenford Road.

The Observer understands tension had been mounting recently between the two competing businesses and it boiled over this morning.

One of the four men arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm has been taken to hospital with minor injuries but there were no knives involved in the alleged assault, according to police.

The two halal butcher shops have been cordoned off by Harrow Police as a precaution.
