A NEW online service which will give young people in Brent a chance to achieve their potential was launched at Wembley Stadium.
Slenky, a website which enables people aged 13 to 24 to connect with businesses, internships and employment opportunities, was set up by a former Preston Manor School student and Chalkhill Farm resident and offers young people a tool for connecting with businesses and people they would not normally have access to.
The social platform was launched on Thursday last week at Wembley with students invited from Preston Manor School, along with many other young people from the area.
Cec Richards, CEO of Slenky, said: “It’s quite simple really; young people are desperately looking for their shot, whatever it is, and organisations can and are creating shots. A platform that connects has been the missing link and Slenky has been created to bridge that divide.”
Guests also included former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, the co-founder of Bebo, Paul Birch, and representatives from Barclays, Microsoft, Hilton Wembley and Ealing Council.
