A FORMER mayor of Brent has been chosen to be the Tory candidate for Brent North.

A FORMER mayor of Brent was chosen to be the Tory candidate for Brent North last Thursday (March 4).

Councillor Harshadbhai Patel will be battling against sitting Labour MP Barry Gardiner in the elections.

Other candidates competing for the seat include Brent Councillor Atiq Malik, who is running as an Independent, the Green Party's Martin Francis and the Liberal Democrat's Councillor James Allie.
