Residents concerned about drug users and mess at a private block of flats in Southall are attending a meeting on Monday (September 29) to discuss the issue.

The meeting has been organised by the Safer Neighbourhood Police Team after complaints from tenants at Links View in Greenford Road.

A police spokeswoman said: "People have raised issues with us regarding their personal safety.

"There seems to be drug dealing going on at the rear of the flats.

"A lot of youngsters have been seen hanging around after dark."

Single mum Fathya Warsme, 38, who has a flat at Links View, said: "I have never seen people using drugs until I came here one year ago.

"I see people smoking drugs at the bottom of the steps of my flat and my son and I are afraid to go out."

Bashir Adbi, 33, added: "The area behind the flats has become overgrown with weeds, the car parking area is a mess and there are a lot of bin bags left lying around."

Police are urging neighbours to attend the residents' hall, Queens Avenue, at 7.30pm.
