A FIVE-year-old girl was knocked down and killed in Acton yesterday afternoon.

A FIVE-year-old girl was knocked down and killed in Acton yesterday afternoon.

Police were called at 4:35pm to the junction of Trinity Way and Bromyard Avenue to reports of a BMW three series having collided with the girl.

The accident happened just outside the King Fahad Academy school and the girl was taken to St Mary's Hospital but sadly died later from her injuries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward and help investigators with their inquiries.

A post mortem will be scheduled in due course and next of kin have been informed.

The driver did stop at the scene but no arrests have been made.
