Half a dozen top-notch Hounslow schools have been singled out for praise this week as the Chief Inspector of Education published a list of all those rated 'outstanding' this year.

The annual report paid tribute to one secondary and five primary schools in the borough who all received the highest praise in their inspections this year.

Staff and pupils at Feltham Hill Infant and Nursery School and Isleworth's The Blue School (pictured) were happy to be reminded of their successful year.

And there were more smiles over at Chiswick primaries Belmont and Strand-on-the-Green Infant and Nursery, who were also included on the list, along with Heston-based Springwell Infant and Nursery School.

Chief Inspector of Education Christine Gilbert said: "It's encouraging to see so much outstanding provision across all areas of education and care and I pay tribute to all who contributed to this success.

Lampton School, in Hounslow, was the only local secondary to make the list this year after a glowing report landed on their desks back in May.
