Fire shuts sports centre

A SPORTS centre has been closed after a fire damaged the building during the weekend.

Staff arriving at the Southall Sports centre in Beaconsfield Road, on Saturday (8), discovered smoke and dialled 999.

The blaze, thought to have been caused by a small electrical fault was contained quickly and the damage is still being assessed.

No-one was injured and no members of the public were on site at the time.

Southall Sports Centre members can use similar facilities at the following centres while the building remains shut:
