PLUMES of smoke can be seen from Heathrow Airport after a fire erupted at a Heathrow warehouse.
The Fire Brigade is still attending the scene, arriving at 2pm today (Friday).
The Servisair warehouse is in Stansted Road, inside the airport perimeter, but traffic is expected to be affected around the area. The Southern Perimeter Road around the airport have also been closed.
Twenty fire engines and 100 firefighters are on the scene, tackling the fire at the Servisair warehouse. It has been speculated the fire started when a fork lift truck caught ablaze.
Heathrow Airport confirmed they are open as normal, and flights are continuing to operate without disruption.
Smoke billowing into the sky from the fire can be seen from the motorway, and as far as Ealing and Hammersmith. Explosions were heard, but no casualties have so far been reported.
However, the London Ambulance Service is on standby at the site. The Southern Perimiter Road is now clompletely closed off.
Passengers attempting to access Terminal 4 have also reported severe delays.
There is a 400 metre exclusion zone in place around the site of the fire, as firefighters work to make the area safe.
The LFB have pledged an investigation into the cause of the fire in due course.
The fire has also been sighted as far as Windsor, and 20 miles down the M3, and the hot temperatures are not going to be helpful to efforts to quell the blaze.
