A HOUSE fire broke out and set next door alight in Greenford yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).

The Brigade was called to Fisher Close at 3pm, following 14 calls of a fire which started in the garage of the semi-detached property just two weeks after the owner had moved in.

Nobody was inside either building at the time but occupants and neighbours returned from work and school to find the two homes severely damaged.

The house where the blaze started had been undergoing renovations for six weeks previous to being occupied, now all the work done has been destroyed.

The neighbouring house caught the flames on the left hand side and suffered smoke damage.

Investigations are ongoing to try and establish the cause, which as yet remains unknown.
